Two Goats and a Donkey!

So today started out with a visit to the vet. Cooper has been having ear issues for a couple of days, but I thought it was just his semi-regular fungal infection he gets sometimes on the inner surface of his ear, but this time it was something else. Ian noticed yesterday while I was at work that there was discharge down inside his ear, so I made plans to take him. We use a vet in Taylorsville because, even though it's a far longer drive, it's so much cheaper and they seem actually to care about the animals there. My sister has used them for years, and she suggested I use them back when my cat, Maverick, had developed diabetes. It's also the place where I've had Maverick, Max, and Maggie put to sleep. It's crazy, but I remember every moment of both Maverick and Max being put to sleep there - but I have no recollection at all of going through it with Maggie. I wonder why that is? But, I digress. Anyway, back to Cooper, the vet decided it was a yeast infection, and offered 2 solutions - she could either use a one-time medication that lasts for 30 days, or she could send home a medication that would require me to put it into his ear twice a day for 2 weeks. I think we know which option I chose lol. So she took him back to clean the ear and give him the meds, which I'm realizing I don't even know if it was a pill, an ointment, liquid, or a shot. -> -> -> Five minutes later -> -> -> Ok, I had to look up with it was. He was given something called Mometamax Single, which is a topical treatment (liquid) applied directly into the ear. It's good for 28-33 days. The more you know!

So, we're still awaiting the results on the Mississippi senate race between Scott Colom and Cindy Hides-a-Lot. Hopefully before the week is out we'll know what's going on! Yesterday I had mentioned the possibility of a run-off election, but there won't be one. Whoever gets the most votes will win the senate seat. Cindy Hides-a-Lot has already claimed victory, even though at the time of this writing Scott Colom leads by 1138 votes. With over 900,000 votes, that's a very close race!

Anyway, the point of this post was all about Cooper! Hopefully he'll start feeling better and won't be shaking that head as often. I don't like it when my baby doesn't feel good! The images below are after he got home. I didn't think to take my phone in when we arrived at the vet, so I didn't get any shots of how good he was there! Anyway, I hope everyone has a wonderful day! Love you all!
