WOW! All I can say is WOW, well done, folks! This is amazing and so historic! It's such a statement about the Republican Party and what it has become under Trump. You know, some conspiracy theorists might say that this was planned all along, that Trump was put in place in order to destroy the Republican Party and sink them as fast as possible. I think that's probably a bunch of hooey (scientific term), but Trump certainly brought out the worst in Republicans.
The Republicans of Yesteryear were so much less horrible than they are now. The Bushes, for instance, while they seemed pretty bad at the time, are actually not so terrible. I mean, the younger George Bush has a legendary friendship with Michelle Obama, and as a human being, he's very decent. But today's crop of Republicans, under Trump...I mean, Elon Musk nailed it when he said that empathy is a made-up word. They lack that critical human emotion. Empathy. It's what makes us human, what makes us social, what gives us reason to connect with people. And if Republicans really do lack that one basic feature...that explains so much. I'd rather believe, however, that the lack is rare, that it affects Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and a handful of other rotten human beings, but that it doesn't truly define or infect an entire party of people. Of course, in that case, I'm not really sure what motivates people to be so cruel. And cruelty is definitely the underlying layer for the Republican Party.
Now, with the Democratic Party in control of Congress, maybe a little less Congress and a little more Progress will occur! So much damage has been wrought by the reds and it'll take the blues a while to get things under control again. At least we have a fighting chance again! Speaking of which, to bring this all a little closer to home, the senate race between Scott Colom and Cindy Hides-a-Lot is neck and neck! As of the time of this writing, Scott leads Cindy by 43 votes! Neither at this point has a clear majority, but hopefully Scott will be declared the winner without this going into a run-off situation!
Oh, and I'm sure you picked up on the fact the page looks different today! Had to match the Blue Wave Energy!
So, enough about politics for the moment. Cooper has been having some itching issues, and has a fungal outbreak in his right ear yet again, so he's kept me up all night by scratching, jumping up and down on the sofa (for those that don't know, I sleep with Cooper on the sofa now - my bed is too high for him, and I also don't trust him in my bedroom for reasons that will become apparent a couple of sentences from now), and waggling those ears loudly all night. So, finally at 4:30 this morning, I'd had enough and decided maybe he just needs a bath for all of his itching issues. I keep his metal bathtub as a barrier into my bedroom to keep him out, so I picked it up and rinsed it out so I could bathe him. Barely had I gotten water into it to rinse when he waltzed into my bedroom, happy as could be, and promptly pissed on the floor. It was 4:30am, I was tired as hell from lack of sleep, so I was furious, and he and I got into a little fight. Then I bathed him, angrily, but my anger softened quickly while bathing him. I can't stay mad at those beautiful brown eyes for long!
So below we have the current stats on the senate race - I just checked, and it hasn't changed yet - and two images of Cooper, post bath. Anyway, enjoy your Wednesday! We're halfway through this week!
