Two Goats and a Donkey!

Thursday, March 3, 2022

Happy Birthday! I can't believe it's already been one year since I started this blog! Granted, I let 6 months go by at one point without updating, but still, a whole year since the idea of Two Goats and a Donkey became the reality! It's been a wild ride, and the fact I now have 4 episodes of the podcast is simply mind-blowing to me! So, to the blog, I say Happy Birthday! And many, many more!

As I'm typing this, my parakeets are having some sort of fit, chirping and shrieking up a storm! This is why I do my podcast at night, when they're covered, so they don't disrupt the recording! Anyway, today begins the day we employees run the store, as the owner is on his way to South Africa for a vacation and family get-together! It's going to be interesting running the store by ourselves, but we've had plenty of training and should be able to do it with no problems whatsoever!

Below are a few random pictures that I thought I'd share on this one year anniversary post. The first pictures are some of my daylilies from 2020, the first year I planted them. I've since dug most of them up from their original spot and they are all now in the little square flowerbed next to my porch, along with gladiolas, irises, an amarylis, and a few others. Steve and I had both ordered a lot of daylilies from a company in Missouri that neither one of us is likely to order from again, since we were very unhappy with how the plants looked when they arrived.

The next 3 pictures are of my Golden Comets when they were just tiny little babies and then as they were becoming "teenagers"! Such little cutie pies, and they have turned into such pretty hens! Productive hens, since I usually get 3-5 eggs a day from the 5 survivors! And I usually get an egg a day from the rescue hen, the silver-laced Wyandotte hen that I rescued from where I used to work when she was just running around outside in the bushes.

Next are two cakes that I made towards the end of 2020. I was very proud of them, and had made a fruit glaze for them from scratch. Definitely need to get back into the habit of making cakes! The third picture in that line is of Steve, my hubs, whom I simply adore and would do anything for!

Next are some images of my Max, including one where he is showing pride as an ally for his two daddies! The bandana came from Petco (not sponsored, although if you're interested, Petco, we can talk...), and was part of his Christmas gift. And then the last 3 pics are of myself holding and giving some love to Max, and then 2 pictures of my beautiful calico and white cat, Maggie.

Hope you enjoyed this post and I look forward to writing the next one as well as doing my next podcast! Episode 5's theme has yet to be decided, but hopefully it will be enjoyable regardless! Until next time, have a wonderful day and much love to y'all!
